Electric car prices in Pakistan: every main model, range and battery (October 2026)

Two years ago, you could count the electric cars on sale in Pakistan on one hand. In October 2026, there are well over a dozen, from small city cars under Rs 4 million to luxury SUVs above Rs 20 million, and new models keep arriving. Brokerage Arif Habib Limited counted 23 launches due between June and December 2026, nearly 87 percent of them electrified (Express Tribune, 2026).

Below are prices for the main models on sale, with battery size and claimed range, and the taxes and test cycles that make comparisons tricky. Prices change often, so treat every figure as "as of" the date given and confirm with the dealer.

Other models you'll see

A few more EVs are listed by dealers and on PakWheels, though we couldn't find recent independent price reports for all of them: the Dongfeng Box at about Rs 5.5 to 6.8 million, the Jaecoo J6 at about Rs 8.8 to 10.8 million, the Omoda E5 at about Rs 8.99 million, the locally assembled Seres 3 at about Rs 8.39 million, the Deepal L07 at about Rs 14 million, and the Xpeng G6 from about Rs 14.5 million (PakWheels, Dongfeng Box; PakWheels, Jaecoo; PakWheels, Omoda E5; PakWheels, Seres 3; PakWheels, Deepal L07; PakWheels, Xpeng G6). At the top end, BMW's electric models cost well over Rs 20 million, even after February 2026 price cuts tied to Ramadan, so check current prices (Profit, February 2026).

Plug-in hybrids and range-extenders, such as the BYD Shark 6 at Rs 19.95 million, are a different kind of car. Our PHEV vs EV guide compares them.

Range figures aren't all measured the same way

The range column mixes three test cycles, and they aren't equal. China's CLTC is the most generous, the older NEDC sits in the middle, and Europe's WLTP is the most realistic of the three. PakWheels' 2026 guide converts some CLTC figures to rough WLTP equivalents; for the Honri VE, for example, 200 to 300 km on CLTC becomes roughly 164 to 246 km on WLTP (PakWheels, September 2026). Some makers don't say which cycle they used at all.

A Pakistani summer cuts range further. With the AC working hard above 35°C, cars can lose a fifth or more of their range, as our guide to EV battery care in the heat explains. For daily planning, battery size in kWh is often a more honest comparison than any range figure.

Taxes and duties on electric cars in 2026

The tax picture shifted with the 2026–27 budget, and reports didn't always agree. What we could confirm:

  • Locally assembled EVs keep a reduced 1 percent sales tax (KPMG, July 2026), and an FBR explanation reported by PakWheels says the concession for specified EVs runs until 30 June 2027 (PakWheels, October 2026).
  • Imported electric cars face a new federal excise duty under the Finance Act 2026: none below $75,000, 30 percent from $75,000 to $110,000, and 40 percent above that, as reported by PakWheels (PakWheels, June 2026). Budget-day reports framed the bands in rupees instead, so check the final schedule for your car.
  • BYD said its prices would stay the same after the budget, because every model was below the proposed Rs 20 million duty-free limit (ProPakistani, June 2026).
  • A draft auto policy for 2026–31 proposes sales tax of 1 percent for full EVs, 6 percent for range-extenders and 9 percent for plug-in hybrids. It's a proposal and still needs approval (PakWheels, October 2026).

We couldn't confirm the final sales tax rate on imported EVs after 1 July 2026 from a primary source, so ask the dealer to show it on the invoice. For the policy behind these taxes, see the NEV policy explainer.

Table of electric car taxes in Pakistan in October 2026: 1 percent sales tax on locally assembled EVs until June 2027; federal excise duty on imported EVs of 0, 30 or 40 percent by value; BYD prices unchanged after the budget; and a draft auto policy proposing 1, 6 and 9 percent sales tax for EVs, range-extenders and plug-in hybrids

Local assembly: what's coming

Several plug-in cars are already assembled here, including the Honri VE, the Seres 3 and the Deepal S05 range-extender, built by Master Changan in Karachi, which entered volume production in February 2026 (Daily Times, February 2026).

BYD's plant near Karachi, built with Mega Motor, was first expected to produce its first car in July or August 2026 (Express Tribune, July 2025). That has slipped. BYD now plans to start with the Sealion 6, a plug-in hybrid, in the last quarter of 2026 (The Nation, September 2026). Local assembly can bring prices down over time, but it's too early to say by how much.

What else to budget for

The sticker price isn't the whole cost.

  • A home charger. A 7.4 kW wallbox was listed at about Rs 108,000 in 2026, before installation (W11Stop). Some brands have included one: BYD's launch offer, which ran until February 2026, included a 7 kW wall charger with Sealion 7 bookings (ProPakistani, January 2026), and Kaiyi offered one with fully paid E04 bookings during its launch expo. Always ask. Our home charger installation guide covers the rest.
  • Charging time. A bigger battery takes longer to fill at home. Our guide to EV charging time in Pakistan has the numbers for these cars.
  • Running costs, which is where EVs save money. At home, an EV costs about Rs 11 per km at October 2026 prices, against Rs 21 to 35 for petrol cars, as our charging cost guide shows.

If you can't charge at home, check there's a charger near your street before you buy: EVDost lists host chargers across Pakistan with a cost estimate for the model you pick. Have a look.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest electric car in Pakistan?

As of September 2026, PakWheels listed the Inverex XIO from about Rs 3.5 million, the Honri VE 2.0 at about Rs 3.6 million and the GUGO GIGI at Rs 3.75 million, with the Kaiyi E04 from Rs 3.99 million (July 2026). These are small city cars with batteries of about 17 to 30 kWh.

How much is the BYD Atto 3 in Pakistan?

The BYD Atto 3 costs Rs 8.99 million in Pakistan as of June 2026, and BYD said it would keep its prices after the 2026–27 budget. It has a 49.92 kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 410 km. The smaller BYD Atto 2 costs Rs 7.29 million.

What is the price of the MG4 in Pakistan?

The MG4 EV Urban costs Rs 6.949 million in Pakistan, its launch price in May 2026. It has a 43 kWh battery and a claimed 316 km on the WLTP cycle.

How much tax do you pay on an electric car in Pakistan?

Locally assembled EVs pay a reduced 1 percent sales tax, which an FBR explanation says runs until 30 June 2027 for specified EVs. Imported EVs face a federal excise duty of 0, 30 or 40 percent depending on value under the Finance Act 2026, plus other duties. Check the final rates for your car with the dealer.

Will electric car prices in Pakistan come down?

Possibly, as local assembly grows and competition increases, but no one can promise it. BYD's first locally assembled model, a plug-in hybrid, is due in late 2026, and a draft auto policy proposes lower taxes for EVs than for hybrids. Neither guarantees lower prices.
