For drivers
Do I need to download an app?
No. EVDost works in your phone's web browser. Open app.getevdost.com, sign in with your mobile number, and you're ready to find a charger.
Can I charge right away?
Yes. Send a request to a charger that's open now. The host has 15 minutes to accept, and once they do, you see the exact location and directions.
Do I need to register my car?
No. Just sign up with your mobile number. If you want a cost estimate, choose the car you're driving that day; it can be a different car every time. Each charger shows its plug type, and most electric cars in Pakistan use Type 2.
How long does charging take?
It depends on your car and the charger. A typical home charger adds roughly 30 to 50 km of driving for every hour plugged in, so many drivers top up while they work, shop or relax.
How much will I pay?
Each host sets an hourly price, and you pay only for the time you charge, in 10-minute blocks. Before you start, you see the price and an estimate for the car you're driving, so you can pick the best-priced charger nearby. For now, you pay the host directly by Raast, JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank transfer.
For hosts
What do I need to become a host?
An EV charger, a place for a car to park while it charges, and a quick identity check, usually your CNIC. EVDost doesn't require any licence or training to join. As a host, you're responsible for your charger and for the rules that apply to you. NEECA's 2024 regulations require charging stations to be registered, so check with NEECA whether that applies to you before you start charging drivers.
How do I decide my price?
You set an hourly rate. When you list your charger, we show what similar chargers nearby charge, and you can change your price any time. Drivers pay by the 10 minutes.
Do I have to accept every request?
No. You choose your hours and approve each request. You can pause your charger whenever you like.
How much does EVDost charge hosts?
Nothing for now. If that changes, we'll tell you clearly before it applies to you.
What happens during load-shedding?
Switch your charger off in the app while the power is out, so drivers don't pick it, and switch it back on when power returns.
Safety and privacy
Is it safe to let someone use my charger?
Every driver signs up with a verified Pakistani mobile number, you approve every request, and drivers and hosts review each other after each charge.
Who can see my address?
Only a driver whose request you've accepted, and only for that charge. Everyone else sees a general area a few hundred metres wide.
What do you do with my phone number?
We use it only to contact you about EVDost. We never sell it or show it to other users. Read our privacy policy for details.
Still have a question?
We're happy to help, whether you drive an electric car or want to share your charger.
